2. Concept Architecture Tool (CAT)
Through Codarra Advanced Systems, Lumsden Consulting provided Project Management support to the Concept Architecture Tool (CAT) from 2 February 2003 to 6 June 2004. This software tool was being developed by the Department of Defence through the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
Lumsden Consulting's success in Project Managing CAT was due to:

unambiguous requirements definition
meticulous documentation
constant reporting of status to both customer (Department of Defence) and contractor (Codarra Advanced Systems)

Through Athena Global, Lumsden Consulting was contracted from November 2004 to February 2005 to help co-author their 2005 guide on earth observation and its many applications.
During this time, tasks completed were:
With a foreward by Dr Marcio Barbosa, Deputy Director General - UNESCO, the Athena Global Earth Observation Guide 2005 has been published and sold to customers such as the Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Office, Canada and been independently reviewed by the Head of Space and Technology Issues for US Congressional Research and one of UK's leading space consultants, Mr Mark Williams, author of the Cambridge Dictionary of Space Technology.

Space Generation Advisory Council
3. Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC)
Lumsden Consulting was asked to complete a response to the SGAC action team report on "Increasing awareness among decision makers and the general public of the importance of space activities."
This response focused on highlighting such issues as:
global strategic environment
influence of political lobby groups, and
the role of space as an enabler.
The SGAC provides recommendations to the United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs (OOSA).
